The Newton Girls Who Code club is going on a field trip!

Google has invited the Newton 'Girls Who Code' club to come visit their Cambridge offices on Friday, May 22, from 4:00P-6:30P. There will be a technical presentation, a panel discussion with Q&A, and a tour of the facilities. All Newton GWC students are invited to attend, both the Lovelace and Hopper sections are invited. I am also asking for a few adult volunteers to help chaperone the group so that we have a 5:1 student to adult ratio on the trip. Note that this is the Friday afternoon before Memorial Day weekend, so please check your family's travel plans.

The Google offices are located at 355 Main Street, Cambridge, which is right in Kendall Square. The club will provide round-trip bus transportation from the Newton Library, leaving at 4PM sharp and returning around 6:30P. Students may take the bus, or may arrange their own transportation Google. Whether you plan to attend or not, and whether you plan to take the bus or not, please fill out this survey.

The trip is entirely free, with no cost to students or families.

Please let me know whether you plan to attend the trip or not by filling out this survey: https://goo.gl/rx0Trp It has up to 3 pages, depending on your answers, so please be sure to fill out the whole survey until you get to (and press) a “Submit” button.

If you will be attending the field trip, I will need a permission form signed by a parent or guardian: https://goo.gl/Y4Cedj Please return the form to me by May 18th, either by emailing me a scan/photo of the signed form, or by handing me a physical paper form.

I’m sure this is going to be a great trip! Please don’t hesitate to contact me with questions.
